Guidelines for Lacation-Wellness Room

Share

In 2019, the Imperial Building opened a Wellness Room with the intended purpose of providing a safe, clean and quiet space for new parents to pump breastmilk. The Wellness Room is located on the ground floor of the Imperial Building along the main hallway, between the freight elevator and reception desk. An online calendar was set up to allow individuals to reserve time in the Wellness Room in 30-minute increments, based on their schedule; to reserve the Wellness Room, individuals are to contact the Imperial Building receptionist and ask for a link to the Teamup calendar. Below are some additional guidelines for using the Imperial Building Wellness Room:

Guidelines for Wellness Room:

  • Please clean up after yourself
    • Please do this both “out of respect for the next user [and] to prevent contamination and illness transmission.
  • Sign up in advance via the Teamup Calendar.
    • The receptionist will be able to provide you with your own personal calendar link
  • Rooms can only be reserved for 30 minute periods of time.
    • This is to allow for as many others to use it as necessary, but if this is a problem, please discuss with the receptionist.
    • If you need to book the room for longer, please make sure your calendar reservation reflects the time you spend in the room.
  • Delete your reservation at least 30 minutes in advance if you no longer need it.
    • This will allow for as many people to use the room as necessary.
  • Please do not schedule more than 30 days in advance.
    • “While users will be able to schedule time in advance, we ask that you not schedule more than 30 days in advance. This will provide everyone with more flexibility to reserve space in the lactation room as their needs change.”
    • We recommend you plan to schedule your time weekly.

Please note that the Wellness Room calendar is managed by the Imperial Building receptionist and any questions/concerns should be directed to the building manager, Bryan Scherich.
