BRIDGE Scholar Updates: J'Mauri Jackson

DPHS is always excited to see our former students and BRIDGE Scholars continue to find success in their academic and professional pursuits.

J'Mauri Jackson, a 2022 DPHS BRIDGE Scholar, recently updated us on her post-program achievements. Jackson successfully completed her MA thesis, "The Commodification of Diversity in the Context of School Choice," and embarked on a research assistantship with the Qualitative Research Partners with the Duke University School of Medicine. She is now preparing to begin a PhD program with the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor's joint Sociology and Public Policy program. This success includes acceptance into the University of Michigan's Rackham Merit Fellowship Program.

Other recent achievements for Jackson include:

  • A Critical Race Theory Summer School Scholarship from the African American Policy Forum.
  • A science internship with the Center for Policing Equity.
  • Acceptance into the Maternal and Child Health Fellowship Program at Indiana University.
  • Acceptance into Future of Families Summer Data Workshop at Columbia University.
  • Acceptance into the Summer Institute for Anti-Racist and Decolonizing Research Methods Workshop at George Mason University.
