At the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS) 2018 meeting, Courtney Van Houtven, PhD, was one of three speakers who discussed her work on the psychosocial needs of cancer caregivers. Her talk focused on how the VA system engages families in care and lessons learned. She spoke about the policy’s comprehensiveness, how it reduces depressive symptoms and financial burdens, and her caregiver trainings that have increased satisfaction with care and lessened isolation.
