Tomi Akinyemiju, PhD, wants to understand and address the complex factors preventing access to front-line ovarian cancer treatment, especially among Black women. Her National Cancer Institute R37, which gives two years of additional funding over an RO1, will help her determine why some receive better treatment than others.
