Weinfurt named president-elect of International Society for Quality of Life Research

Kevin Weinfurt, PhD, the James B. Duke Distinguished Professor and vice chair of faculty in the Department of Population Health Sciences, has been named president-elect of the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL).

Weinfurt’s appointment to the leadership position reflects his longstanding commitment to advancing rigorous quality-of-life and patient-centered outcomes research and to strengthening the global measurement science community.

“I am grateful to ISOQOL for supporting me as a scholar for so many years and hope that I can give back through this role,” Weinfurt said.

The ISOQOL is a global community of researchers, clinicians, health care professionals, industry professionals, consultants, and patient research partners dedicated to advancing health-related quality of life research.

Weinfurt will begin his term immediately following the society’s 2026 annual conference in October. He is the second department faculty member to serve as ISOQOL’s president; Bryce Reeve, PhD, served from 2011 to 2013.
