Alyssa is a public health professional serving as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Population Health Sciences. She has experience in qualitative research methods and analysis, project coordination, community engagement, and contract development. Before coming to Duke, Alyssa worked on overdose prevention and harm reduction efforts through contract coordination at the Injury and Violence Prevention Branch within the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. In addition, she has extensive suicide prevention knowledge as a certified Question Persuade Refer (QPR) trainer and previous Program Director of a suicide prevention non-profit organization.  

Alyssa obtained her Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences with a minor in Biology from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York.
