Colleen Burke attended the University of Notre Dame for her Bachelor of Science, followed by Duke University for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She practiced clinically in an orthopedic clinic before transitioning into a clinician-researcher role at the Durham VA Healthcare System. Colleen is interested in using causal inference and other epidemiologic methodologies to examine real world data. Her current work focuses on the development of chronic pain and understanding how the intersection of social exposures and biologic mechanisms influence health outcomes, leading to health disparities. Colleen is local to the Chapel Hill/Durham area, and in her free time, enjoys watching sports, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
