Franco obtained his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (2017) and Master in Public Policy and Management (2018) from the University of Chile. He then worked for a couple of years as Head of Innovation for a network of public health centers in Chile. In 2020, he moved to Spain to pursue his Master in Public Health at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona).
Franco has worked as a consultant, researcher, and project manager on various projects and research centers, including topics such as coordination between levels of care, the use of healthcare services, trajectories in mental health, and the development of a CDSS for managing individuals with suicidal ideation in emergency settings. Additionally, in recent years, Franco has been a Lecturer at the International University of Catalonia and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Chile.
His primary research interest lies in understanding how to enhance healthcare quality, with a particular emphasis on the structure, coordination, and integration of care across various levels. Franco aims to understand how improvements in healthcare delivery quality can be achieved through changes in health policy, management, organizational culture, leadership, organizational design, and team dynamics.
