Research Assistant

Ms. Jackson is a Research Assistant in the Department of Population Health Sciences. Her research focuses on the social and structural determinants of health inequalities at the intersections of race and gender. She has experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as mixed methods research. Her research experiences include projects that examined the formation of suicide clusters in high schools, the relationship between policing bias and racial mental health disparities, daily stress management for individuals with symptoms of major depression and generalized anxiety, and the treatment- and help-seeking behaviors of students of color at predominantly white institutions. For her dissertation, Ms. Jackson aims to produce research that is translational and can give way to policies that could reduce ongoing racial health disparities.

Ms. Jackson received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Inequality and Society from The Ohio State University (2019) and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University (2022).
