Rose Volponi
Senior Program Coordinator

Rose Volponi joined the Duke Department of Population Health Sciences in 2024 as the Senior Program Coordinator for the REGAL research group. Prior to her arrival, Rose spent nearly two decades in early childhood education and nonprofit management. She has over 14 years of administrative, leadership, and management experience where she worked to create an inclusive and safe space for educators, families, children, and the community. Rose has led an organization through the entire business life cycle - start-up, 10-year achievement, a rebranding during the pandemic, and dissolution. While running a nonprofit program in Durham, she worked closely with Duke professors, Duke graduate students, international families from the Fuqua School of Business, and Duke undergraduate students through their involvement as Board members, parents, and community volunteers (Go Duke Project Build!). These interactions inspired her to bring her skills and experience to Duke. She is passionate about the important work that the REGAL group is doing to eliminate global disparities in cancer research and uses her skills and experience to make sure things run smoothly.
