Suepriya is a first-year Master’s student in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Public Health and Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, along with certificates in Public Policy and Civic Engagement and Service Learning. Her undergraduate thesis examined the social, political, and economic impacts of neoliberal policies implemented by the IMF and World Bank in India and Argentina.
Suepriya’s academic interests focus on health economics, social epidemiology, and globalization. She is particularly interested in examining the intersection of economic policies and health disparities, with a focus on how globalization impacts access to healthcare and health outcomes in marginalized populations. She is currently working as a Research Assistant in Dr. Monica Lemmon’s lab at Duke Medicine.
