Taylor K. Gibbens, B.S., is a Master’s student in Population Health Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychological and Brain Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

At Duke, her graduate research assistantship focuses on lung cancer screening equity under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Pignone. In this role, Taylor supports research initiatives in collaboration with the International Cancer Screening Network (ICSN), contributing to discussions and projects aimed at advancing equity in cancer screening practices. She also assists Dr. Pignone with a range of initiatives focused on improving healthcare access and outcomes.

Previously, Taylor worked as a research assistant at Rutgers Medical School/RWJ Barnabas Health, where she contributed to studies on novel minimally invasive medical treatments and evaluated medical devices and patient outcomes.

She has co-authored scientific and medical manuscripts submitted to high-impact journals. Taylor is passionate about improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities, addressing systemic disparities, and enhancing clinical outcomes through evidence-based interventions.
