Ms. Cheng is a Research Assistant at the Department of Population Health Science. Trained in mixed-method research, Tina completed her Master of Public Health and Bachelor in Integrated Science at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She is passionate about understanding and combating health inequalities through effective knowledge translation between research and implementation. With her experiences working with marginalized communities, Ms. Cheng is interested in understanding how cultural and linguistic factors influence the values we attach to health. Ms. Cheng is excited about different components of qualitative research, from grants application, protocol development, focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, to thematic analysis and write-up. She is passionate about working with interdisciplinary teams, especially with communities, to ensure patients’ voices are heard through research.
