Vinit Nalawade is a Biostatistician on the PopHealth DataShare analytics team. His research work focuses on studies of treatment effectiveness, disease progression, population disparities, healthcare utilization, and life science issues involving EHR, EMR, patient registry, claims and outcomes, clinical trials, digital health research, VA, and real-world evidence data. He has experience with using Python, R, SQL, and SAS for data management and analysis and has co-authored research published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Before joining Duke, he worked at UC San Diego Health on varied statistics, predictive analytics, and natural language processing projects analyzing big data, particularly for cancer, geriatrics, and clinical research. Vinit received his BE in Computer Science from the University of Pune, India, and his MS in Information Systems (Data Science) from San Diego State University.
