Dr. Dandan Chen
Senior Biostatistician

Dr. Chen is a psychometrician in the Center for Health Measurement at the Department of Population Health Sciences. Her research expertise focuses on the application of psychometric and statistical methods to advance the precision and validity of measurement. Prior to joining Duke, she worked as a psychometrician with the American Board of Anesthesiology, where she conducted evaluations and psychometric analysis related to board certification and residency education. Her current research interests include the application of psychometric methods to patient-reported outcomes measures and the longitudinal analysis of quality of life among children and young adults.

Dr. Chen received her BS in Psychology from South China Normal University and her MA and Ph.D. in Education with a first specialization in evaluation, measurement, and statistics, and a second specialization in school psychology from the University of Delaware.
