2022 Summer Institute BRIDGE Scholarship
Are you a current or recent minority-identifying undergraduate? Are you looking to learn about population health? Apply for the Summer Institute BRIDGE (Building Research Inclusion and Diversity in Graduate Education) Scholarship!
- The deadline to apply for this fully-funded scholarship has closed. Please check back in early 2023 for the new application date.
- Recipients will be determined by a departmental committee made up of DEI-trained faculty (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion).
- Scholarship recipients will be given a discount code to use when registering.
- Those who do not receive a scholarship are welcome to register for the 2022 Summer Institute as paid attendees at the discounted student pricing.
Who’s Eligible?
Full-time undergraduate minority-identifying students or recent graduates (within 3 years of receiving their bachelor’s degree) that come from a background that is underrepresented in graduate study. Applicants should have a demonstrated and sustained commitment to diversity through their professional experience, volunteer engagement, or leadership of student or community organizations. A commitment to diversity may include efforts to reduce health; social; educational; or economic disparities based on race, ethnicity, or gender.
How to Apply?
Email a 500-word personal statement that outlines how the 2022 Summer Institute will facilitate your training and career. You should also identify a Duke Pop Health faculty member whose research closely aligns with your career goals.
