Call for Abstracts
We are pleased to invite submissions for the Innovative Strategies for Addressing Climate-Related Health Challenges Symposium, which will take place on April 8, 2025, at Duke University. This symposium aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and showcase innovative and important approaches to mitigating and addressing the health impacts of climate change.
We encourage submissions of completed work, works-in-progress, potential collaborations, and other innovative and significant contributions that explore the intersection of climate change and health. Submissions may address, but are not limited to:
- Community-engagement strategies to understand the impacts of climate change
- Public health interventions for climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Health systems preparedness and resilience in the face of climate-related events
- Impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations and health equity
- Innovative policy solutions for climate-related health risks
- Emerging technologies and tools for monitoring climate and health outcomes
- Community-based approaches to improving climate resilience
- Research on environmental exposures and their long-term health effects
- Collaboration between health professionals, researchers, and policymakers to address climate-related health challenges
Submission Guidelines
We are accepting abstracts for posters and oral presentations. Abstracts should be 300 words or less and should clearly outline the purpose, methods, key findings (if applicable), and relevance to climate-related health challenges. Please indicate whether your submission is for a completed project, a work-in-progress, or a proposal for future collaboration.

- Abstract submission deadline: January 15, 2025
- Notification of acceptance: February 2025
- Symposium date: April 8, 2025
